Registering for Baby #2 is TACKY. But I'm doing it.

Hear me out.

Registering for Baby #2 is tacky.
Unless it's been 10+ years since your first, you shouldn't.
But I am.

Not because I'm going to share them with anyone else.
Not because I expect a baby shower again (also tacky to ask for a second one).
Not because I think babies are an excuse for gifts.

No.

I'm registering again for the golden completion coupon.
You know, that beautiful 20% off everything on your wishlist coupon? Ya, that.

After Emmalee we lived in a small 800 square foot apartment with few closets so we passed on a lot of our bigger stuff: the swing, jumperoo, Rock N Play... all things we will need again. I saved a bouncy seat, a boppy pillow and lots of Emmalee's clothes but we'll be lacking on stuff and 20% would be a huge help!

Anyone else ever registered for babies after the first, even if only for the completion coupon or the samples when you register?!

14 Weeks!

It seems crazy but this baby has already been cooking for 14 weeks!
Baby is now the size of a lemon!
And call me crazy but I'm pretty sure I felt some flutters!

Last weekend was extremely scary for us.
After a day full of vomiting, around 7 pm, I started bleeding.  First a few spots and then a trickle of blood and then full out non stop blood pooling in my slippers.
Phone call after phone call to the doctor, we discussed the options and I chose to stay home for the night and go in first thing in the morning to do an ultrasound, check the baby, and see what was wrong.
If I was miscarrying, there was nothing we could do to stop it.

Saturday was an early check in to the doctors for an ultrasound, and there was our beautiful baby waving back at us.
Baby was moving around, and most importantly, there was a heartbeat.
I was put on a modified bed rest, allowing me to go to work and class but to essentially be laying down otherwise. I am amazed at how much my husband took on for me; I really am just so in love with how well he takes care of me.

The bleeding slowed but continued until Monday.
My follow up was on Wednesday and after checking in, doing the normal weigh in and checks, the doctor put the doppler to my belly. Nothing.
And more nothing. And more nothing. No noise, no sounds, no heartbeat.
So we rushed to the ultrasound room where once again, my small child was dancing around with a great heartbeat.

The doctor showed me a bit of scarring on the placenta where I apparently tore it from being so sick on Friday.
I am still on a modified bed rest, pelvic rest, and I need to be careful as the pregnancy continues, but my baby is currently happy and healthy.

I am so excited to meet this baby in May, but if he/she is already giving me this many heart attacks, I am so screwed when he/she joins us! ;)

Dr. Scholl's Active Series Insoles Review

Disclaimer: I was offered this product for testing purposes from Influenster but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

It's no secret that I adore the wonderful little packages that arrive at my door from Influenster, and this one was no different!

In this package, I got a wonderful package of Dr. Scholl's Active Series Insoles!

I know what you're thinking... Heather... active? Seriously? I laughed at first too. And then I tried them on.
I am by no means a runner... or even a walker but as a large pregnant woman in my (just about?) second trimester, having supportive insoles are amazing!

I can put them in my no support flats and feel like a million bucks after being on my feet teaching all day, or can put them in my riding boots and there's no calf pain when I get home after a long day.

The insoles say they specifically target the heel, arch, and ball of your foot but my legs just felt better in general!
I love when a product can be MORE than what it's advertised for!
