Why I Hate Pinterest

I kind of hate Pinterest.
Maybe. Kind of.

I mean, I love it.
I have a ton of boards and I actually use it correctly, as a pin board of things I love that I can easily find later.
I've made some wonderful recipes and found some great crafts to replicate.
I have found some wonderful outfit inspirations.

But here's my issue with Pinterest...
I feel like everything has to be PERFECT.
Pinterest perfect.
And if it's not, it's a Pinstrosity.

But here's the thing.
It shouldn't be.
Pinterest should be a place to go to for ideas.
Not a scale by which to judge yourself, your house, or your crafting abilities.

Heather's (@blondeublonde) Guest Post!

Hi ya'll!

I'm Heather from...

I'm excited to guest blog for my name-twin in part of her birthday celebration!

I mean, who doesn't love birthdays?
Presents, cake, a parties- doesn't get much better!

2012 was no doubt my best birthday ever.
It will never be beaten.  And I'm totally okay with that.
You can read about it here.

But I'm still looking forward to my 2013 birthday, because I have my eye on one of these...

I want to be able to take awesome pictures of my ridiculously cute child.
And I wouldn't mind if my hubby surprised me and bought it early...
Hint hint.

What's your favorite part of birthdays?

Happy birthday Heather!

You really should go check out her blog and see how ridiculously adorable Baby Skeeter is!
I'm so excited that she was willing to guest post... Maybe I'm bias because of her name, but it's just so wonderful!

@SaneMommy's Birthday Guest Post!

My Favorite Birthday

Hi there! My name is Jessica and I blog over at Keeping Mommy Sane. I’m excited to be today’s guest blogger while Heather enjoys some much-needed birthday fun.

She asked me to write about my favorite birthday gift, which I will say stumped me for a bit. I tried thinking of my childhood birthdays. Did anything really stand out? A Barbie Dream House? A Cabbage Patch Doll? A New Kids on the Block “Live in Concert” VHS tape?

And I realized the answer was right in front of me, literally. My husband was the mastermind behind my best birthday ever.

I was about five months pregnant with my son as my 30th birthday approached. A wild and crazy night out on the town was obviously not going to happen. I was feeling large, uncomfortable, unattractive. I resigned myself to celebrating my new decade with a mineral water, a DVD rental and a 9pm bedtime.

Instead, my husband came through, as always. He orchestrated a two-part 30th birthday celebration fit for a hormonal pregnant lady. First, he sent me, my best friend and my sister-in-law out for a day of beauty and relaxation. I had never been to a “fancy spa” before, so I felt so decadent putting on the white terrycloth robe, drinking a glass of cucumber-infused water and listening to soothing New Age music as I enjoyed a much-needed prenatal massage, facial and pedicure.

I left feeling like a million bucks and much closer to the girl I was before those two pink lines showed up on the pregnancy test.

While we were away, my husband was busy. Little did I know, he had also been planning a 30th birthday dinner with our closest friends. This was meaningful for me in so many ways. When we moved to Baltimore four years earlier so he could attend graduate school, I didn’t know a single person in the area. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to make new friends in my mid-20s, especially since I worked in an office with people older than me, and most of my husband’s fellow grad students were younger than us. That first year was rough, and lonely.

But over time, we found our way, and I met some truly wonderful people who became my surrogate family for the five years we lived there. We spend the night of my birthday laughing and sharing stories over yummy eats (thanks to my chef husband) and fancy drinks (well, for almost all of us). To celebrate this milestone birthday with them – and with the husband who knew this was exactly what I needed – was truly something special, and is a night, and a birthday, I will never forget.

I LOVE Jessica's story! Maybe it's because I'm jealous and desperately want a spa day! Give me a massage, a manicure and a haircut and I would be super happy!

Make sure you check out Jessica's blog or follow her on Twitter!

Helen's Guest Post!

Like I said before,
I'm giving myself a break this month enjoying my birthday month and won't be posting as much!
Instead I'm super excited to share some wonderful bloggers with you!

First up: HELEN!

Guess what people?!

Heather's turning 27!

Happy Birthday Girl!

For all of you who don't know who I am, which is probably most of you, I'm Helen from Eat.Enjoy.Live.
I was so excited when Heather asked me to do a birthday themed guest post. I love birthdays!

For me a birthday MUST include:
  • Tasty treats
  • Laughter
  • Music
  • Cake
  • Friends/family

If I have those five things it's a perfect celebration. What are your must-haves for a birthday?

I thought I'd share a few birthday celebrations with you.

Celebrating my 24th birthday in one of my favourite secret cafe spots.

My Mum and Karen (the birthday girl), two of my closest friends.

My not so little brother turns 17. This is the night I also got food poisoning, but hey we had cake!

My little brother did actually eat this. Brave, brave man.

A skinnier me at my 22nd, which was celebrated with all my friends. Check out the hair! Should I go back that colour?

Who doesn't like cake covered in sweets?!?

I love reminiscing! Its just shame I don't have any digital pics from my 18th, because that was A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

Have a great day everyone!

Pretty Little Tuesday: What Becomes of the Broken Hearted

Not going to lie, I thought last week's episode was kind of boring.
I mean, it was good, we learned a few things but really my heart broke for Spencer more than anything else.
Ps. you can tell her mental stability by the ridiculousness of her hair... I swear.

Tonight's episode should be insane and with the Spencer and Mona confrontations!
Here's a couple of sneak peeks!

Wait... Spencer looks happy?? With Wren??
